Renea Sageser

Owner, Founder, and Speech Therapist

Renea Sageser is a Speech Language Pathologist and the owner of Associates in Pediatric Therapy. Renea has seen the need in our community and the surrounding areas for pediatric therapy services and is working to provide a quality, one-stop shop for parents. It is her dream to offer pediatric therapy in all domains (physical, occupational, speech, developmental, psychological, and audiological). She also strives to have a quality academic center in collaboration with the therapeutic center.

Education

Renea received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders from Murray State University in 2001 and her Master of Science in Speech Pathology in 2003 at Murray State University.

Certifications

Renea is Kentucky Board Certified and holds her CCC’s in the area of Speech Pathology with the American Speech and Hearing Association.

Continuing Education Coursework

Renea has been trained in Applied Behavioral Analysis in 2002, PECs , STEP program, and Teach.  Renea has completed continuing education courses in Apraxia and Diagnosing of Apraxia by attending Koffman Courses, Asperger’s syndrome, Diagnosing and treatment for Auditory Processing, Stuttering, Feeding Courses, M.O.R.E Training, and pediatric specific assessment trainings.

Pediatric Experience

Renea has worked in a number of different pediatric settings such as schools, hospitals, and private clinics. She also completed part of her feeding training at the Vanderbilt Hospital where she focused on Neonatal Feeding with patients. During her masters she worked part time as an ABA team leader for a child with Autism for two years.  Renea currently sees patients 0-21 but her main focus is children with apraxia, autism, behavioral feeding, and auditory processing.

Renea has experience working with children who have a variety of medical, sensory, motor, speech, cognitive, and behavioral concerns, including cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration dysfunction, Asperger’s Syndrome, attention deficit disorder, genetic disorders, Down Syndrome, William’s syndrome, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, stroke, stuttering, behavioral feeding, apraxia, and developmental delays.  Renea is also a trained and certified provider for therapeutic listening with The Listening Program.

About Renea

Renea currently resides in Shelbyville with her husband and 4 children. She loves the ability to help children meet their goals in therapy. In 2012, Renea was honored as Business First’s 40 Under 40. In 2011, Renea received the EPIC Award and Louisville Business Woman of the Year. APT has also been recognized 4 years in a row by Louisville Business First “Fast 50,” honoring the fastest growing independent and privately held companies in Greater Louisville.  Renea is the owner and founder of Associates in Pediatric Therapy and would be happy to answer your questions via email at renea@kidtherapy.org.
